Ticking sounds, high pitch

I've got 3k miles on my '22 and every or almost every thing is in a good state, temps are good n all but just this sound coming from the engine I guess and it sounds like a ticking, kind of high pitched and I dont even know if its been there for a while and I'm just starting to notice it or it just came, since nothing else seemed to be off, I started guessing if thats how the 310 single cylinder layout is, I tried doing some asking around and I got stuff like probably valve lash or so and I thought I'd still just ask here

I'd appreciate thoughts please

Ticking from the G310GS single-cylinder is pretty normal if it's steady and the bike runs fine. I had a similar high-pitched whine on my '22 GS, lightly blocking the exhaust with a cloth nearly stopped the noise. So my mechanic confirmed the exhaust was the cause. Anyone else experience this?

Why does it only become noticeable now if everything's been running fine, could it be the valve lash widening over time, or maybe you're just more tuned in to the engine's rhythm?

Isn't the clearance check done at 6k? It's a shame to see a bike with 3k developing a problem. With that said, @starbucksrat it's a single cylinder engine and the noise is more or less normal, at least as you described it, but if it worries you take it toa mechanic or the dealer
