the mystery screaming sound on 2023 BMW G310R

Hey everyone! My brother just snagged himself a 2023 BMW G310R, it's only got about 125 miles on it, so it's super fresh. Surprisingly, he's already got a weird issue and it's kinda bugging him.

He says when he closes the throttle and lets the engine brake, he hears this weird screaming sound.

He describes it as sounding like gears, or the chain, or just something like that back there. The really strange part is, when he presses the front brake, it actually makes the screaming sound worse!

Any of you guys have an idea what this could be?

Or is this just... normal for these bikes when they're breaking in? He's pretty new to it and wants to know if he should be worried.

Hmmm....I'm guessing a bunch of things, either a dry wheel bearing, rotor rub, or pad noise or could also be a tight or dry chain reacting to engine braking, check it out now while it's under warranty, might even just be a minor thing

Probably chain rubbing against the guard or sprockets needing adjustment or lubrication, then confim if the brake pads or rotors are causing any weird noises when the front brake is squeezed since it's a new bike with low miles, it's a good idea to have a dealer or mechanic give it a quick look to rule out anything serious

I'm guessing the brake pads or caliper reacting oddly under pressure but all we can do here is offer suggestions and thoughts, and just like @Boss Lady mentioned its still a new bike so just get it to the dealer

This is why i often tell people that those low mileage purchases aren't as great as most people think. 2 year old bike with 100+ miles means it spent most of it's time parked and not running, meaning the oil is toast and every time you run it it's tearing itself to shreds unless you do a complete teardown and replace every rubber and fluid. Now, about the screaming sound. Have you checked the tension on the chain?
