new to this forum! got engine failure - help!!

Im happy i found this forum. After reading some posts i think my son's 310GS engine breaking down with low miles isnt just his problem. His 2020 BMW 310GS engine died in August 2023 with only 7k miles and under 3 years old. One day it stopped running when he got home. No weird sounds, smells or signs of trouble. It wouldnt start again. The engine turned but wouldnt fire up. We thought it was something simple like an electrical issue. But we couldnt fix it so we took it to a BMW dealer over 150 miles away not the one we bought it from. they said the timing belt slipped and bent all the valves. they wouldnt even trade it in which makes me think they are hiding something. the bike was under its 3year warranty when it broke but by the time we got to the dealer the warranty was up and BMW wont cover it. Any advice on repairs or dealing with the warranty would really help!

Since the warranty expired it's hard to get coverage but you can look into independent repair shops for maybe a potential lower cost
