need help in DIY fork seal replacement

Mine looks like they have a special nut inside and it won't budge? Are there any Youtube video you can point me to? the ones I've seen doesn't seem to work. My neighbor mentioned I need a spring compressor? Help this newbie out please

Not an expert but I know theres a spring in there, so I guess you would need that spring compressor you mentioned.

Hmm, sounds like you've got cartridge forks, and yeah, you'll need a spring compressor to expose the internal nut. That 'special nut' you say wont budge without compressing the spring. There are some good DIY videos show how to make a basic compressor with threaded rod and pipe that you can find online. Doable for sure yeah, just make sure the bike iss secure and you've got the right tools.

I saw a video from Tom's Cycle Recyling on YouTube which I know you can use, too. I don't know if I'm allowed to attach a link here so you can search it up directly. It seems like those special nuts are actually the spring preload caps. The video has everything you need. I think it's gonna help you more than me describing the entire thing.
