My rear lights are going bananas!

Seriously, it's been acting up like crazy. so this aftermarket LED tail and brake light thing died. Now my extra brake lights just blink like crazy as soon as I turn the key!
I even tried swapping some wires to the flasher for the extra brake lights, and now they just get brighter when I brake (no more flashing!), but the voltage doesn't even seem to change. Weird, right?

do you think maybe the old busted LED light might have shorted something and messed up the flasher for my extra brake lights and the voltage?

any ideas?

dude, sounds like a real electrical gremlin! it's def possible that your aftermarket led tail light shorted something when it went out. then i'd say the flashing / brightness thing is a flasher issue. maybe try replacing the flasher relay with a known good one.. but if that doesn't fix it, then it could be a voltage regulator problem.

looks like you have a problem with the electrical. I think you need to change the led aftermarket with a better one

Agree with them you got a problem with the electricals. Bad LED units can short and mess with your flasher or even the backfeed voltage. Try removing it then test the system without it so you'll know.

That dead LED probably caused a short and messed up your flasher. I reccommend replacing it with an LED-compatible flasher relay first, those older models really don't work well with low-draw LEDs. Also, make sure to check your ground connectoins and consider testing the voltage at the light plug to confirm everythin else is okay. Once you sort out the flasher, it could be a simple fix

Yeah, just change out the LED flasher relay. Then, make sure the ground and voltage at the plug are working right. That should do it.
