I recently purchased a secondhand 2018 BMW G310 GS.
I'm really happy about it but it doesn't seem to have a lot of power..
When I'm driving on the highway/interstate, the bike just can't reach speed beyond 70mph!!
Does anyone got an idea if this bike has a speed governor or revolution limiter? Or maybe anything that's got to do with the gear, chain, etc??
I'm not sure what to check.. Happy to receive advice based on experience!

Hahaha. It do be like that. If from 75 mph it's so easy for me to go up to 85 but just... never up to 90. That might take weeks LOL.

What is the engine rpm in 6th gear at 70mph?

That's typical for a 313cc single-cylinder engine. It's not limited, it's just geared tall and lacks the power for fast cruising. Check your chain and sprockets, but don't expect a huge speed boost

The G310 GS isnt the most powerful bike, but it should be able to go a bit past 70mph, so something might be off . It doesnt have a hard speed governor, but things like gearing, chain condition or even clogged air filters can affect top speed. Also check if the sprockets were changed by the previous owner, which can lower highway performance. Anyone else run into similar issues with theirs?

True, the G310 GS has no speed governor, but gearing, chain condition, or clutch slip can affect top speed. Check sprocket sizes and make sure the chain's tension and wear are good.
