Some bikes come and go but a few stick around. My '92 R100GS lasted 8yrs and my '78 R80RT has been with me for nearly 2 decades.

Now the G310R is proving itself. With 2500 miles mostly on city sts, its smooth handling and light touring setup make it hard to let go. I plan to keep it until I can't swing a leg over it anymore.

I usually sell bikes if I don't use them much. Last April, I sold my S1000RR after putting on 75,000 miles, but I only managed to ride it 750 miles in three years. I'm still holding on to my S1000XR as a backup for when my 310GS is down and for some extra speed when I want it, but I'm not feeling that need as much anymore. Once I find something that fits me better, I'll probably pass the XR on to someone who will enjoy it more.

Nice you got a good system but it's clear the 310GS is your true companion. 'Better to hold onto what fits like a glove and let the rest find a new home. Here's to bikes that stay in the garage for the long haul!
