I heard a story about a guy who crashed previously but his Garmin InReach Satellite saved him. I got a Mini 2 the same day because I was worried it would happen to me. 
Then it did. Surprise. Actually no surprise I went into a dusty trail at Caprock and had zero visibility because of the dust accumulating on my helmet so I crashed. Really, the Garmin helped a lot. 
I highly recommend it.
